Task Force members gather signatures in support of a Wage Recovery Ordinance at the Martin Luther King. Jr. March on January 2013.

The Alachua County Wage Theft Task Force was formed by members of the Alachua County community in September of 2012 with the goal of bringing public and political awareness to the issue of wage theft in the area. We are a coalition of student activists, community organizers, small business owners, and religious leaders who believe that fairness should remain the central value for doing business in our community. We joined together to work with our elected officials to pass a Wage Recovery Ordinance, a service that would help workers restore stolen wages, and help businesses stamp out unfair competition.
